We’re excited to announce that i.c.stars Milwaukee has been named a finalist in BizTimes Media’s Nonprofit Excellence Awards.
This recognition is a testament to our impact in Milwaukee: creating economic mobility through job skills training for tech careers. It also speaks to the strength of the partnerships we have created – the individuals who volunteer, the companies who hire, and the community and industry organizations who support this work.

The awards are designed to shine a light on the community impact of southeastern Wisconsin nonprofits. We hope you will join the awards event on Thursday, July 24 at the Italian Community Center, 631 E. Chicago St., from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. To register for the Awards Ceremony, visit www.biztimes.com/npawards.
“We are deeply honored to be named a BizTimes finalist for Nonprofit of the Year,” said i.c.stars Milwaukee Advisory Board Chair and Chief Information Officer von Briesen & Roper Bill Caraher.
“This recognition honors the tireless and collective efforts of our staff, volunteers, employer partners, sponsors, and community of CIO champions who believe in building a more inclusive, tech-driven workforce in Milwaukee”, said i.c.stars Milwaukee Executive Director Blanca Gonzales.
“We thank BizTimes and the Nonprofit Excellence Award team for recognizing i.c.stars among so many other amazing nonprofit peers in Milwaukee,” said Caraher. “It is a true honor.”
As we continue to grow our impact, we invite you to be part of this momentum—whether by mentoring, hiring, sponsoring, or simply spreading the word. Together, we’re not just building careers—we’re building the future of Milwaukee’s tech workforce.
