On August 20th, i.c.stars Chicago welcomed a full house for our annual iOpener Conference, and the energy in the room was nothing short of inspiring.
This year’s theme, “Before Cybersecurity, Before AI, it starts with Data,” sparked thoughtful conversations around the foundation of today’s most critical technologies. Our panelists and speakers—leaders in technology, innovation, and workforce development—delivered insights that went beyond product pitches to real education, predictions, and practices shaping the future of work.
But iOpener has always been more than a conference.
At its heart, it’s a celebration of our interns—emerging technologists who complete an intense 14-week leadership and technology bootcamp with determination, grit, and creativity. Cycle 57’s interns took the stage with confidence, presenting their innovative solutions to real-world challenges in front of a packed audience.
One of the highlights of the day was recognizing the winning team of the Final Solution Presentations. Their work reflected not only technical skill, but also collaboration, innovation, and the kind of leadership that employers across industries are seeking. Seeing the teams present their solutions reminded everyone in the room why investing in diverse tech talent matters.
