VP – IT Infrastructure & Operations, Landmark Credit Union

Board of Directors, i.c.stars*|Milwaukee

When I think of Black History Month, my focus goes to the word history. Black History Month highlights past events involving African American people. One inspiring moment in Black history that always resonates with me is the story of the African American women known as the “West Computers” of NASA. Their story was portrayed in the movie Hidden Figures.

The African American women of NASA, from the late 1950s to the early 1960s, played a crucial role in paving the way for engineers and mathematicians of all races and genders. Their resilience and intelligence continue to inspire us all.

This paved the way for my own opportunity in the field of IT today! I reflect on their determination when facing tough situations in my IT work, which motivates me to persevere. This also drives me to help others interested in IT by serving on the Advisory Board for i.c.stars|Milwaukee and on their Development Committee. I am truly honored to give back and support future generations in IT.
