Joseph Pekala joined ACCO Brands in 2014 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Mr. Pekala holds overall worldwide responsibility for the company’s Information Technology (IT) function and is responsible for the transformation and alignment of IT to the business, enabling the business to meet its objectives through the leveraging of technology resources. As a member of ACCO Brands Executive Leadership Team, he is part of the group that sets the general direction and strategy for the company. Mr. Pekala has more than 20 years of IT management experience in a variety of industries. Prior to joining ACCO Brands, he was with Graphic Packing International (GPI). During his tenure at GPI, he held positions of increasing responsibility in the IT area, eventually as Vice President and Chief Information Officer with responsibility for all IT and business process integration. Mr. Pekala also has held a number of senior consulting positions with various technology consulting firms. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy’s submarine force, having served in Operation Desert Storm. Mr. Pekala holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mercer University and a MBA from the University of Georgia.
