DISYS Deepens Involvement with Chicago-Based Nonprofit, i.c.stars

The Chicago office of the McLean-based IT Staffing and Consulting Firm Broadens its Support of the Chicago-based Nonprofit Technology and Leadership Organization

June 16, 2011 – Digital Intelligence Systems Corp. (DISYS), a leading global IT staffing and consulting company, announces today that it has committed to deepening its involvement in and support of i.c.stars, a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that offers an innovative two-year program for low-income adults to develop advanced technical and leadership skills while earning an associates degree. Comprising a rigorous application process, full-time internship, and transitioning to residency and fellowship programs on actual technology projects at major corporations throughout the Chicagoland area, i.c.stars provides the education, support, and network to allow its students to succeed and act as agents of positive change in their communities.

DISYS became involved with i.c.stars in November, 2010 at i.c.stars’ annual TechBash event. DISYS aims to explore some additional ways to engage i.c.stars students and alumni at the branch and corporate levels as they begin their careers in the technology industry.

“We at DISYS continue to be passionate about the work that i.c.stars is doing to engage and develop the next generation of great technology industry all-stars,” DISYS’ Executive Director of IT Consulting and Staffing for the Midwest Region Jim Goodmiller says. “Chicago Branch Managing Director Eric Treida and all of us at DISYS believe that it is important to help others achieve their goals and dreams and to help provide opportunities to do so. We look forward to a long partnership with i.c.stars and are excited about what the future holds.”

“i.c.stars is thrilled to have DISYS sign on as our first annual minority owned tech firm sponsor,” said Sandee Kastrul, President and Co-Founder. “DISYS is committed to the Chicagoland community by building the next generation of young, tech talent.”

DISYS’ philanthropic and community involvement also stems back to a large investment and activity effort at the corporate level in the form of a program launched in early 2011 called CommunityConnection that provides each of DISYS’ global branch offices with the opportunity to nominate a deserving nonprofit organization on a monthly basis to have it selected to receive $500, provided by DISYS on a monthly basis per each branch office.
