Tom is Vice President, IT Infrastructure Services at AbbVie, a global bio-pharmaceutical company headquartered in North Chicago, IL. Tom is responsible for assuring users of AbbVie’s IT delivered capabilities operate as effectively and efficiently as possible. He is responsible for delivering the visible front-end IT services (e.g., unified communication and collaboration) to AbbVie’s employees and partners, while assuring the back-end services (e.g., network and core computing platforms) are operating at the highest availability and performance.

Previously, Tom was VP, IT, Global Commercial Operations at AbbVie. In his role, Tom led the development of business aligned IT strategies, and the delivery of IT enabled capabilities to achieve greater commercial effectiveness while complying with the applicable laws and regulations.

Prior to Abbott Laboratories’ separation and launch of Abbvie, Tom held several advancing positions at Abbott beginning in the Diagnostics business unit. While in Abbott Diagnostics, held a number of positions including IT Director, Manufacturing and QA. Tom moved to Abbott’s Proprietary Pharmaceutical US business unit. He was appointed, Divisional VP, Information Management and Technology, later becoming DVP, IT and Commercial Operations leading both the IT and commercial operations functions.

Prior to joining Abbott, worked at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) departing as a Senior Manager. While at Andersen Consulting, engineered and managed mission critical applications at several large multinational companies in a broad range of industries including telecommunications, financial services, and consumer packaged goods.

Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management and Computer Science from Purdue University. Tom has taken several executive MBA level courses at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also has been on the Veeva CRM, Cognizant Life Sciences and ModelN Enterprise Revenue Management executive advisory boards.
