As we commemorate the legacy of Cesar Chavez, it’s evident that his vision aligns closely with that of i.c.stars, particularly in three pivotal realms: Education. Leadership, and Community Impact.  Today we pay homage to his tireless efforts and applaud the ongoing initiatives aimed at advancing the forefront of technology. Leveraging our innovative resources, we strive to enhance access to technology education, foster inclusive leadership representation, and generate genuine community impact.

Keynote Speaker:

Mara Candelaria Reardon, Deputy Director of Public Engagement at the National Telecommunications Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce

i.c.stars* l Milwaukee could not be more honored to announce the keynote speaker for our Hack the Dream event to be Madam Deputy Director Mara Reardon. As the first Latina elected to the Indiana General Assembly, Mara Candelaria Reardon will share how she continues to ‘use her voice’ to advocate for more inclusive and innovative society. Ms. Candelaria Reardon has a passion for technological advancement and community empowerment which encapsulates the spirit of i.c.stars mission.

Throughout her distinguished career, Mara has been a tireless advocate for crucial issues, from workplace equality to education reform, demonstrating a steadfast dedication to fostering positive change. She has an unwavering commitment to public service and advancing social justice.

The vision of both Cesar Chavez and Mara Candelaria Reardon aligns closely with that of i.c.stars, particularly in three pivotal pillars Education, Leadership and Community Impact!

In recognition of the birthday of Cesar Chavez, and in celebration of his life’s dedication to ensuring all american’s right to register to vote, we will focus this year’s Hack the Dream on shining a light on Cesar’s work and all those who have carried on his legacy.   So much has been done, yet there is still much to do!
