i.c.stars is hiring a Data and Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our organization at an exciting time of organizational evolution. Reporting to the Chief Learning and Program Officer, the Data and Continuous Improvement Specialist will collaborate and work with a variety of critical stakeholders to advance key data and continuous improvement projects that align with our organizational goals. The highest priority project slated for 2024 is the establishment of a program “data dashboard” and continuous improvement infrastructure that enables us to see snapshot data, patterns, and trends regarding our program data across all i.c.stars cities. As our organization continues to grow and evolve, having a data dashboard and additional infrastructure will be critical to managing program quality and execution and to support continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Data + Continuous Improvement Infrastructure Development and Management (45%)
Increase the breadth and quality of data that is tracked, monitored and analyzed for both internal use and external reporting.
Engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to develop data collection systems, processes, and tools to enable accurate data snapshots and trend analysis over time (pre-data dashboard).
Consult with partners, leaders and other professionals about specific operations and how to optimize them using data.
Oversee the development of new databases, monitoring database performance and interpreting raw data and turning it into usable feedback and applications.
Evaluate processes to develop strategies that help improve processes and operations.
Engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to develop a program data dashboard, processes, and tools that enable accurate data snapshots and trend analysis over time.
Collaborate with the Chief Learning and Program Officer to develop the continuous improvement cycle learning strategy to accompany the program data dashboard
Data Analysis Subject Matter Expertise, Knowledge Sharing, and Capacity-Building (20%)
Engage in a data collection audit and recommend improvements (Ex. Look at how we ask questions on the application- specifically around pre-program earnings).
Clarify and share data analysis best practices with a variety of stakeholders, including program staff and the executive leadership team.
Use in-depth knowledge and understanding of data collection, analysis, visualization, and continuous improvement cycles (based on experience, research or education) to build capacity and skill in colleagues.
Counsel and advise colleagues on data-responsive continuous improvement cycles to improve outcomes and achieve goals.
Prepare and lead CRM training for different user levels (virtual).
Assist in training all staff on data entry and reporting requirements, responsibilities, and processes.
Ongoing Data and Reports Management (20%)
Examine and ensure the authenticity of data, transform it into a more straightforward format, and build data reports.
Create edit checks for all data and perform validation.
Create systems for tracking and flagging required data entry expectations for each role and city (i.e.. Salesforce, program dashboard, etc.) and processes for strengthening visibility and accountability.
Systematically respond to needs from i.c.stars’ staff regarding Salesforce.
Generate, resolve and track queries to address problematic data identified during data review activities and apply proper modification / correction to the database.
Develop and manage internal systems for targeted data requests, reports, and predictive data modeling.
Generate and produce data reports and visualizations as needed.
Work with i.c.stars’ CTO to update Salesforce’s backend as time and capacity allows.
Fostering a Culture of Learning and Continuous Improvement in Service to Our Mission (15%)
Model and nurture a culture of data-responsive continuous improvement.
Work collaboratively with a variety of national and regional staff to ensure data alignment, awareness, and consistency across the organization.
Report on the challenges and successes of advancing data and continuous improvement work to internal and external stakeholders and collaborators as directed by the Chief Learning and Program Officer.
Develop trust, productive working relationships, and collaboration with a variety of internal and external stakeholders who are critical to the success of our organization.
Participate and actively engage in staff meetings and other meetings as directed.
Engage in ongoing professional learning in service to continued development and impact.

“BIG WINS” FOR FY24
Develop and launch of a highly functional and user-friendly program data dashboard with data visualization capabilities (there is potential to engage consulting capacity to support, but this would be a key performance indicator for this position)
Develop and build the infrastructure for program continuous improvement cycles, including best practices on data collection, data analysis, root cause analysis, goal-setting, and goal-tracking.
Develop (in heavy collaboration with the Chief Learning and Program Officer) a vision-aligned common assessment strategy, tools, and platform focused on collecting data on how interns experience our program, knowledge learned during the cycle, skills developed during the cycle, and career/life outcomes post-cycle.
Create a data collection and analysis process to enable accurate data snapshots and trend analysis over time to drive the refining of values-aligned performance management tools, processes, and (for program) role-specific key performance indicators.

3+ years of experience as a data specialist or similar role(s) that demonstrate experience with key aspects of this position: 1) Data + Continuous Improvement Infrastructure Development, Data Analysis Subject Matter Expertise, 2) Knowledge Sharing, and Capacity-Building, 3) Ongoing Data and Reports Management, and 4) Fostering a Culture of Learning and Continuous Improvement in Service to Our Mission

Salary: The salary range for this position is competitive and the offer presented to the finalist is contingent upon their unique qualifications. The starting salary range for this position will be discussed during the first round interview to ensure aligned salary expectations.
