On Thursday, November 6, we had the joy of joining Salesforce’s BOLDforce Chicago for their Inaugural Friendsgiving Fundraiser—an evening that reminded us just how powerful community can be when it comes together with purpose, heart, and shared vision.
From the warm welcome offered by Executive Sponsors Robin Glover and Kathryn Charleston, the night was filled with energy, connection, and celebration. Our CEO Karin Norington-Reaves and Executive Director (and proud alum) Larry Cowans had the opportunity to share stories from the i.c.stars journey—stories that highlight how a single opportunity, a meaningful connection, or one pivotal moment can change a life. Their words helped illuminate why partnerships like this one are so meaningful: because they expand possibilities for the next generation of tech leaders.
What a celebration it was! Guests enjoyed incredible food from Williams Inn, specialty cocktails crafted by Kelli’s Chicago, music by DJ Mello Sounds, and a lineup of raffle prizes that brought out everyone’s competitive spirit. The entire evening was beautifully captured by photographer D’Andre Lyons, ensuring the memories live on.
Thanks to the generosity of BOLDforce Chicago, event sponsors, Salesforce’s donation match, and all who attended, shared, and donated, the evening raised an inspiring $17,511 toward a $20K goal. At a time when many in our communities are facing significant challenges, the kindness and support shown at this event demonstrates what is possible when people come together in service of a shared mission.
