i.c. stars hosts many events throughout the year, from annual celebrations to committee meetings to our daily High Tea. These events are designed to bring together top information technology executives and future industry leaders.

Some events, such as our annual Capitalize on Illinois and iOpener conferences, are market focused, bringing together Chicago-area high tech leaders to discuss the global economic forces affecting the local IT workforce and what businesses are doing to stay ahead of an ever changing industry.

Other of our events, like our festive celebrations and Hack the Dream and TechBash events create networking opportunities for our community. Hack the Dream is a yearly celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. where i.c. stars stakeholders—interns, alumni, staff, board members, employers, volunteers, and sponsors—share their accomplishments over the past year. At TechBash, dozens of technology leaders become “celebrity” bartenders and serve drinks as the Chicago tech community comes together to network and support i.c. stars.

While each event is unique and serves as the primary source for funding our technology and leadership skills training program, they all provide unparalleled opportunities for i.c.stars interns to network and learn from industry leaders.

Our special events draw hundreds of senior high tech leaders together from many major corporations and provides a platform to shape Chicago’s future IT workforce. i.c.stars events have proven to be a high-impact, high-power critical force in the tech community.
